The Main Regulator Valve is housedin the main control valve body to regulate the main pressure.
The main regulator valve is closed during normal engine operations. If the main pressure exceeds the valve spring tension, the regulator valve will open releasing the excess pressure back into the pan. When the main pressure has stabilized below the valve spring tension, the valve will close.
