The Oil Cool Washer helps the bolt to secure the oil cooler housing to the main housing. 

The Oil Cool Washer distributes pressure evenly across the fastener. It increases the fastener's ability to hold the appropriate clamping force. The washer helps to ensure a good, tight seal between the oil cooler housing and the main housing.

The Oil Cool Washer is vital in ensuring proper clamping force under the fastener. Uneven pressure distribution across the fastener or an uneven surface could cause the part to gradually loosen and compromise the clamping force. This compromise could result in cross-contamination of coolant fluid and transmission fluid.
