• The TC221 Torque Converter Assembly provides a hydraulic connection between the engine and transmission.

  The torque converter consists of the impeller that receives energy from the engine. The impeller contains blades that, when it spins, express fluid outwards.

  The turbine is opposite the impeller. The fluid flows from the impeller over the blades of the turbine. The blades of the turbine then rotate at a slower pace than the blades in the impeller. Fluid coupling then occurs. The stator sits between these two components. As the fluid flows through the stator, torque increases.
